Hey guys, do you think we should make a youtube account for the site?

I think it would provide us with these benefits

• This would enable us to embed videos in our articles for videos that we cannot find anywhere else on youtube. For instance, the promotional videos from the Maxim/Pontiac promo.
• It would boost traffic to our site, since the youtube channel and all the video descriptions will have a link to our site. We can also put advertising banners in the youtube channel. Jen's myspace idea has worked out well, so this is just more of us branching out to sites that everyone visits
• Any fan videos that you guys make can also be uploaded to our youtube channel

I just hope it won't replace the ability to download the videos. For example, the SendSpace downloads.

No, we will still have the sendspace download links. The youtube channel will mainly be for promotion and it will make it more convenient for me to embed videos onto an article if there isnt a clip available on youtube already.

I'm thinking maybe we should match the theme of the myspace page. Do you want to design the youtube channel, Jen?

PoD, if you still have those FLV files from the Streetbrawl site, do u think u can start uploadin them to the youtube acct?

And Noel, i think a promotional trailer for our site would be great to have on the youtube channel. If any of you guys can make one, we can put it up right away.

sounds good, but 1st can someone wanna make a banner or pic of a "gina-carano.org" ad. that can be put before and after the YouTube videos? We should mention the site name as much as possible I'm thinking. esp if ppl dl or mma sites link to them, we'll get a free mention.

I noticed a different Gina Carano fansite YouTube account has already uploaded the two frontpage videos.   Get on that ad, y'all. The best I got is moviemaker's blank screen text.

You can use the pic from my banner/wallpaper that i made for the site. I cropped it to 720x480



Oh and also should we do a small transparent overlay (watermark) on the videos with our site URL?

I'd like to put it up on this website's user account. I'm thinking of deleting my account. If you can download them, then you can just edit the ending (especially of the first one "The Heart Of A Fighter) with the new design for this site and post it there. I would do it, but I'm running out of internet bandwidth.

Oh yeah, and MK, I don't think a watermark will be necessary. It will just spoil the video. The before and after pic for the site is enough.

I think you're right, the watermark will spoil it a bit because I know if i had the choice between two of the same videos and one of them has a watermark, then i would choose to watch the non-watermarked one every time. So i think just the pic at the beginning is fine. Having it at both ends of the video might be a little overkill though, imo.

Anyhow, Phoenix, it might better if you can provide PoD with the original video files for the ones you've made because if he downloads it off of youtube, the quality might look even worse once he uploads it again to our youtube channel because it would have go through another conversion.

Hey PoD, i saw the vid you uploaded. Very good job putting them together!

I noticed a small spike in webtraffic today on our site. Within the last 24 hours, we've got 11 referring traffic hits from youtube.com and 3 subscribers. Slowly, but surely, they are trickling in.

The main thing i dont know how to do is how to add a banner on the channel page and on the video page. Not sure if you need a special account or need to be a youtube partner.

also just got all Pro-Elite.com ones, any suggestions for the channel? I'm thinking about the "lost" one (post Vs Kedzie). It was up for like a month then never returned to that site after it got revamped.
