ok whats yall take on how shes doin?
From what Ive gathered she wasnt a natural at this type of thing. When she was on AG there were fan reports of multiple takes and repeated directions for her. On Red Alert 3 there was an attempt by the director to have her do Russian accent and it didnt happen she didnt speak much at all and when she did there was no accent. What makes it worse is that type of vehicle is campy, over the top style of acting.

On the positive tip, she received recent praise from Esther Lin on being able to take direction in her posing and while it was a simple scene she did gr8 in Blood&Bone.

she did.....did she talk much in bllod and bone dont remeber

no much, it was just "call me."

thing is in the scene she had to step up to him and front like maybe she was next up to fight dude but not too much else her flirtin w/ him wouldnt make sense.

that makes her look like Merril Streep compared to other mma acting performances (Death Warrior, Scorpion King 2 etc..)

PowerBomb, yeah you scared me for a second...lol

To touch on Gina's acting ability. I was shocked to first hear that she was doing a movie of this caliber with such a renown director. Talk about jumping into the deep end.! You would think that a big studio and director wouldn't take a chance on someone if they knew that Gina couldn't pull it off, right? I will be sooooo embarrassed for her if she bombs or if Soderbergh regrets doing this. However I'm certain that Gina took acting lessons and they probably did some test screens on her. I mean, you can't just take someone off the street with little acting experience and expect them to shine on the big screen without finding out what they're capable of right?

I dunno, I hope she does well because if she doesn't the mma community will never let her live it down!

^yeah that bottomline on Soderbergh is def reassuring

I was scared reading that article that began with "How many times can you film someone coming out of a restaurant? (shot took 2  hrs) was dreading it was b/c of G. Apparently simple scenes can take a long time. Maybe Amber Rae (our resident actress) can shed some light on this.

PoD, do you have a good quality clip of Gina's entire scene in Blood & Bone? The clip on YouTube is short and doesn't show the "call me" part.

I'm glad Gina's doing this - and I agree that Soderbergh would have done some testing scenes. He's a good director, and knows what he's doing. Gina did have acting classes for a few months, so I'm sure she'll be fine. Yes, and please post more pics. :)

I think she is gonna surprise us all by her acting ability. Soderbergh can do miracles things with actors. He's a great director for her since this is her first role in a major movie. This isn't some little production. It's huge and I can't wait!
