PoD135, who'd u think she's gonna fight when she gets bak in the cage?

Like Alex said we all like to know that. My guess is anyone from the top 10 145lb lists.
For diff reasons, I'd like either Jan Finney, who G was supposed to fight for her 5th fight and also took Erin Toughill to a decent decision loss ( altho she'll probably make it to the FCF finals in June) or Amanda Nunes, who now has a record similiar to Cyborg and G's prior to their fight.

Hey Pod......you mentioned this:

"I'd like her to see about a 135 return bout which will both help ensure
a return win and allow her to build (muscle) up to 145 properly as shes
been wanting."

You think Gina could get down to 135?  I know shes probably lost some muscle mass from not lifting as much lately but I think it would still be tough for her to get down that low.  She is still muscular and fairly tall and I'd be surprised if shes lower than 150 lbs right now....I do agree with you though, if she did fight at 135, it could definitely be a boost of confidence for returning to the ring.

Well, its not really about making 135 so much as "building a new body". I just threw that out there b/c of a few reasons. First, despite the mental state she was in for the last fight, she made 143 w/out the sauna. It was all diet. In the past, she'd diet down as much as possible in a short time frame then still have to cut 5-10lbs+ of water hours b4 weigh in. I totally agree its doubtful that she' s < 150 right now, but w/out the parameters of being in 'movie shape' she'd weigh alot more. Well, at least thats how it was in the past. Second, regardless of the # of fights until the Cyborg rematch, this return fight has to be a comeback fight (i.e lesser competition) so her takin on a higher ranked 135lb fighter def looks better than a significantly lesser 145er. 3rd, is my fanhood belief that she can pull anything off, of course :)

Just whatever is the best route to  increasing lean mass not at any cardio expense to ultimately being 145+ comfortably w/ an easy cut to 145.  That would mandate a big lifestyle change outside of fight camp. Speaking if which, I think she still hasnt had a satisfactory camp yet.  I gotta believe she is now inspired to do whats needed now. This new prep is crucial, while G didnt hit her as clean as lesser striker Coenen did, Cyborg wasnt hurt from Marloes' shots and they had little to no effect on her counters.

Yeah, all good points.  I think if she has the time to cut the weight (and now knows how to cut it correctly) she probably could get close to 135. I think I read some where too that Coker was checking in with them the entire week before that fight to make sure they were on track.  If she was to agree at 135, Im hoping this would happen again and give her more motivation to cut the weight at the start of camp instead of holding off until later.

I agree with you on the fighting a better 135'er than some one average in the 145 weight class.  And now that Toughil has a questionable future...its becoming slim pickins (or at least thats how the media is portraying it).  I wouldn't mind seeing G vs Kaufman...that would be one hell of a slugfest.

Didnt know that Coker was checking up, good on him. fosho, enough time is crucial. this time she'll have a strength and conditioning coach (refer. Satan video) the whole time instead of a brief stint.

Yeah, Its not looking good for Toughill. If the reason isnt medical then she's ducking. At the same time I dont wish ill health on anyone. I heard Coenen wants 135 too, btw. Meanwhile, Larosa's MIA at 125 now too. hmm, everybodys moving somewhere.

G vs Kaufman would be good. It'd be a Thai clinic for G since Kaufman's like 5'5 w/ a boxing stance and no preference for tkdwns or leg attacks. Its gonna be leg kicks, push and high kicks to the head all day for G. Kinda like the last round of the Kobold fight.

You gonna check out the SF Challengers on Fri? Who u got & y w/ Tate  vs Frausto? I'm pulling for Zoila this cuz Kaufman vs Frausto would be better. A Tate rematch would be more of the same but w/ Kaufman dominating more.

Yeah, I agree...G def has more lower body power and would capitalize on the kicks.  I never knew Kaufman was so short until her last fight, which would be a def advantage for G.

To be honest, Im not really sure how I feel about Tate.  I read an article on how shes talking a lot of crap lately and Im more of an"actions speak louder than words" kind of person...so well see.

Toughill is also a talker, I really wanted to see if she could back it up....Im hoping she'll come back for one more fight just to see what all the hype is about....I guess well have to wait and see.

I think Gina will fight one more time before her movie comes out.
Let's face it, the 145lb division is bleak. If she can do well in films then that is the obvious choice.
Fighting is very dangerous. On the other hand no one really knows for sure, only Gina knows.
It's exciting to see what unfolds.

The thing too is that Gina signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce.  Shes a huge money maker for the organization and I dont see Coker letting her just hang up the gloves without some discussion or one more fight....

Sorry y'all. The interview I was workin on fell thru a while ago. Dude was cool & actually asked me to call him on set (a diff movie) He explained that a higher up wasn’t receptive to the idea.

Then, I was tryin to get whatever I could (aside from the sub'd questions) and put something up, but then realized it still wouldn't be cool w/ whoever wasn’t aiight w/ it.

Unbreakable, he did say G really didn't need any stunt doubling. & this is comin from a dude who kept it real when asked about a big star his stunt team would later work with (paraphrased) “Despite the amazing shape Stallone looks to be in (for the Expendables) dude is doubled 4 just about everything but his dialogue, and walks w/ a limp (while uninjured).”
