Feel free to write your essays, you know I enjoy reading them. If I don't stop myself I'd write double the amount of words you do, so I rather keep it as short as possible, LOL.
I agree with everything you said about the translations... Along the way, someone is going to mess it up a bit - maybe not MESS it up, but twist it around a little sometimes without even realizing it or meaning too. I just used the verse, but it's not even the translation that's in my Bible, it's just something I had in my head, so it wasn't meant to be an exact statement. You know how it goes...

I agree though that if people follow the teachings in there, the world would be a much better place. A lot of people see the Bible as a rule book, and that puts them off, but it's not a rule book at all. It's interesting to read (yes, I've read the entire Bible in a few different translations, and that's one of the reasons I agree with your analysis of translation errors). It gives good principles.
