Rogers has only been out of the 1st round 2 times I believe.  It doesnt matter what you think of him, that says a lot.

Arlovski brought this on himself.  1) By taking the boxing match (gone now) later in June, it showed how much he disrespected Rogers (edge to Brett there).

2) He got beat by Fedor, so what, many guys have and who knows how many more will.  Crying is for sissies, not the octagon.

3) When you lose :22 into a fight, you dont deserve a rematch, period.  He has a long road back to prominence if he still wants to be #1 again.

4) This was only Rogers' 2nd fight in a year or so, Arlovski had probably at least twice that many.

Arlovski dropped his when throwing that leg kick. BAD mistake.

That said we learnt nothing from Rogers in this bout, when picking the fight if you were to pick Rogers to win this if exactly how it would have happened. All we know is he throws wild combinations, has sloppy footwork and hits hard.

Overeem will take care of business in a Paul Buentello inspired gameplan.

To add a lil further detail,
what's worse than that mistake is Andrei's choice of throwing an awfully mistargeted punch while going str8 back not covering & moving his head before any of Rogers punches landed, which was actually the 3rd one thrown.

"The loss bothers me, it hurts me. I have to do something about this. (Brett Rogers) had a good record, but I thought he was not the top like Fedor or Barnett. It was my mistake and when you make a mistake you have to pay for it. I took Rogers seriously, but I didn’t think the fight would have been this situation. I focused too much on boxing and not enough on the wrestling and jiu-jitsu. It wasn’t right. It’s another thing I have to think about. MMA is not boxing. I have to change something. I don’t understand this question about my chin. When you open your face for four or five punches it doesn’t matter your chin, you will get KOed. Rogers was great, he did what he did. I took the fight and I got my ass kicked, it’s that simple. It’s embarrassing, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I have to move on. I’m definitely going to come back."

sorta agree w/ him. His ego then his boxing/mma transition (whatever u wanna call it) failed him. All that was left was a bad chin against a dude who can hurt you even if you got a decent one.

Until someone makes Rogers fight their fight, we wont know the extent of his skills.  Arlovski wanted to box and it cost him.
