Just wanted everyone to be up-to-date on what's being thrown around. I answered the guy the best I could, but maybe more MMA fans should chime in, too!

I think the problem facing female MMA is that instead of alot of people watching it to see a good fight there watching it to see a hot chick like Gina Carano. To be honest if she wasn't a good looking women she would be pretty much go unnoticed. I think until the sport can look at there ability more then what they look like its not gonna get to the highs true fans of female mma will want it to get.
MY REPLY TO GLEN:
OK, Glen...YOU get in the cage with Gina! And after your ass has been kicked and you're completely humiliated, go ahead and report back to us! Look, I think we all understand that Gina is beautiful and that's probably the predominant reason that she was snatched up, promoted and given a chance. But guess what - she has given everyone more than they expected. While the main goal was probably to exploit her and make a quick buck off her looks, she actually got in that cage and gave audiences GREAT fights! Yes, she does seem to "play to her opponent" or only fight as hard as she needs to. But I don't think people actually thought she'd be able to fight. And now she's about to fight a freak of nature and brings MILLIONS of NEW viewers to women's MMA! Whether she wins or loses, Gina Carano has managed to bring more money and more attention to the sport than ANYONE, male or female, in it's history! And the fact that she does seem to "play to her opponent" means that she will put up the fight of her life against Cyborg Santos! I think something very primal and spiritual will kick in and Carano will show us more than we have seen from her before. Call me crazy, but I see in her a true, spiritual competitor who will give whatever she must in order to win. Let's all check in after the fight and compare notes! GO GINA!!
