Just read in the fight networks ticker that strikeforce president just announced Gina Carano will be fighting in 2011. LOVIN IT...

Last I heard is that Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that he expected Gina Carano to return in 2011. If you look at history, very few fighters that competed for championship ever retired at the peak of their game. So there is a good chance she will be back.

Rampage Jackson took some time off to shoot and movie and then was back fighting again.  Chuck Liddell did the same as well.

So now it's really official. Saturday night i was watching Strikeforce and before Fedor' beatdown. i caught her comeback interview. i just cant wait to see her fight again

Well, technically it’s “Conviction,” as Strikeforce star Gina Carano  has begun training with the team in New Mexico in preparation for her  return to action in June.
Sources at Team Jackson/Winkeljohn informed MMAWeekly.com  that Carano began training there about three weeks ago, and while she’s  not officially part of the team, she plans to continue her work there  in the immediate future.

Carano has spent her entire training career up till now in and around  the Las Vegas area.  Originally training Muay Thai with Master Toddy,  Carano then advanced her MMA training at Xtreme Couture.                                                                                                                                                               
She spent the majority of her training camps at Xtreme Couture for  her last several fights, but she appears ready for a bit of a change.

Over the past few years, Team Jackson/Winkeljohn has built up a solid  stable of women’s fighters including Julie Kedzie, who faces Kaitlin  Young in the main event of Jackson’s MMA Series 4 this weekend, as well  as top pro boxer turned MMA fighter Holly Holm.

Carano will train with the team in preparation for her tentatively  scheduled return to action this June at Strikeforce’s event in Dallas.   She has been out of action for over a year since a loss to Cris “Cyborg”  Santos, and then began filming her part in a new movie titled “Haywire”  directed by Steven Soderbergh.

I feel bad for her first opponent back because Gina is going to have much to prove that the Cyborg loss was not who she really is as an MMA fighter.  And it wouldnt hurt to help convince UFC that women's MMA is for real too.

Cindy Dandois was suppose to fight her but turned it down cause she just found out she was pregnant. Does any one know why the Amanda Nunes bout isnt taking place anymore?

Because the fight was never in actual negotiations, it was just her coach (Ze Mario Sperry) lobbying for the fight, telling anyone who'd listen that there were talks, and this was after they (in interviews) said no to a potential Cyborg match despite Amanda having essentially the same number of fights as G.

Miesha Tate did similiar; she said she'd fight 145 vs G but not Cyborg.

Its so weak & insulting, cowering to the top challenge and cherry-picking fights.
