Hey Gina fans !
I have to say right off, I'm obviously a big fan of the lovely Gina Joy Carano.
I'm an Admin over at MMA Crypt and had to come here to share my article ("Why Do MMA fans Constantly and Unjustly Berate Gina Carano") on the lack of respect that Gina gets as an MMA fighter and combat sports participant.
It just annoys me that some MMA fans don't give Gina the respect that she deserves as an MMA fighter, as an ambassador of women's MMA and for everything she's done for women's MMA.
I'm not really a writer, and only write MMA blogs when I feel an injustice is done in regard to the respect of those who have the nerve to step inside the cage to battle it out with an opponent.
We're big on respect over at MMA Crypt, and any Sherdogger-types are dealt with immediately.
I though that as Gina Carano fans you'd all enjoy the article.
Over at our site, we got some feedback that pointed out that Gina missed weight twice and not once like I stated in my article.
I researched this further and Gina did in fact miss weight twice, but in my research I wasn't able to locate an article that mentioned this in a textual format... but I did find video of her second fight where the prefight stats show her over the 135 lbs weight limit.
One of the reasons that I wrote the article, is because it has been mentioned over and again by her detractors that she misses weight over and over and has dropped out of fights because of that which just isn't true.
Missing weight twice isn't over and over... twice is exactly that, only two instances.
The "towel incident" weight-in isn't a valid argument for missing weight, because when all is said and done history won't reflect that fight as missing weight in any shape or form.
I'd like to thank Jen for bumping my article to the front page here and thank her for the compliment regarding my article as well.
I'll do my best to pop in here from time to time and make some contributions when possible, but as Jen can tell you, as an Admin for a web site that sort of thing keeps you quite busy.
In parting, I just want to say :
WAR Gina Carano, and good luck in your comeback fight that's supposed to take place on December 17, 2011.
