If Cyborg cheated, she will get caught and that is the final statement I will make about it.

What I feel beat Gina is Cyborg's gameplan and Gina's time away from the cage.  It was pretty obvious to me and was what I expected.  Idiots on other sites are saying Gina was gassed is just BS.  She was overwhelmed by the fight and the pressure to produce a win at such a big event.  Other than being devastated at the outcome, my first thought was that Gina needs to shun the media and do some gut wrenching training for her next fight and leave no doubt that she belongs in an MMA ring.  My hope is she learned that not every opponent is going to sit back and try to trade strikes with her.  I dont believe Cyborg's striking is any more powerful than Gina's but she does have an edge on the ground.  Randy Couture can neutralize that with time and training.  Then Gina has to actually use her kicks to create space which she did none of in this fight.  One good gut kick or a few well placed low leg kicks would have taken the steam from Cyborg's bull rush.  Make no mistake though, Cyborg would be foolish to try the same strategy again in the 1st rd on Gina.  This was a one time plan to take advantage of Gina's layoff and the pressure she had on her shoulders.

I will say it again: Gina will win the rematch.

Yea i definitely think Gina can win a rematch. We didn't see the best of her in that match for whatever reason, could have been rustiness or psychological or maybe Cyborg caught her by surprise, that won't happen again.

I agree with a lot of your analysis there Krav. When Gina had cyborg mounted she only landed a few punches but cyborg was wincing from them. And when they got up cyborg looked tentative. So i don't think Gina's far behind Cyborg in terms of power, she just didn't land enough clean hits.

When people were voting how many rounds the fight was going to last i immediately voted one because i knew they were both going to go all out as soon as it started, but i thought gina would've came out on top.....in my opinion i dont think she was trained right for that specific match. I think she should've used her signature push kick more often and should've stayed on cyborg when gina was in a full posture ground and pound....that could've made a difference in the fight instead of letting cyborg stand up. Since Gina let cyborg stand up did it make it a more exciting match? Yes it did, but the match being exciting is not what's important in a title match. But if there is a rematch and i'm almost positive there will be......she will deff. win.

Gina has really serious skills (and serious talent) in this area. She just has some things to improve on. I think that her best is a lot better than Cris Santos' best. When Gina attains that level, it will be great to see. The rematch will be hers.

I do not relish watching Gina get hurt, but if this fighting business gives her joy (which I think it does), then I support her. She's a fighter -- I would not want to have someone take that away. But she's more than just a fighter -- thus, if in case she wants to retire from fighting later on and move on to other endeavors, I'd also support her. I'm a fan of the person after all, not just the fighter.

In my opinion Gina should wait a year or two before the rematch with Cyborg. I mean if she wants to fight her again, which I'm pretty sure she wants. :-D I mean she is a true fighter! :)

And yeah, because this is my first post in here I haven't told about my feelings yet after Gina vs. Cyborg fight and yeah, I almost cried. And usually I only cry when I'm watching Titanic. :-D
Because of the time zone, I waited until morning to see the result of the fight and then later watched it in youtube. But actually I was so nervous that I couldn't even sleep that night. :--D
None of my friends could understand why I felt/feel so sad, because of someone that I don't even really know.

Hello to all from Finland! :)

Welcome Cami :)

I guess there's something about Gina :)

I'm lucky my friends commiserated with me after the fight, got me something stiff to drink, let me watch a tear-jerker movie and laughed ONLY a little when I started crying. :))

Hopefully Gina will be truly ready when she has that rematch with Cris Santos -- for the win!

First of all i would like to say that Ms. Carano has proved to be very brave accepting to face Ciborg. Other famous fighters weren't so brave. I'm thinking in Layla Ali  who has avoided fighting against Wolfe or Ragozina or in general every boxer who really could hurt her. It is very important to remember this.

I'm not sure i'd like to see Ms Carano fighting Cyborg again. Ms. Carano is a great athlete and a good fighter,  no doubt about it, but in my opinion Ms Santos is stronger, faster and has more killer instinct. Sadly, i think that only if she is out of shape would Ms. Carano have a chance to beat her. With Cris Santos looking just like Terminator   :o it would be very very dificult for any FEMALE fighter to beat her.

Gina Carano is beautifull, brave, intelligent, famous, she has earned a lot of money and she has proved that she really can fight. So now she has a lot of things she could do in many different areas. She  has no need to be hurted fighting with beast-fighters like Cyborg Santos.

Regards from Spain...and sorry for my bad english!

Guys, I would expect her to address fans in an interview or something very soon. Couture said he expected her to take about a week off(it's been exactly one week now) and then start planning her next move, who she's gonna fight etc etc.

Nelson,  I am glad to have company in the I dont want Gina to fight Cyborg again camp.  There is no way Cyborg is goin to get out of shape anytime soon.  Fighting and training to fight are her life.   She walks around at a solid 170lbs, which means she has to starve herself to make weight.  Gina or any other fighter that goes up against her most look like dinner.  Gina has nothing to prove to anyone, and I could not bear to witness another fight with Cyborg.  If Gina wants to fight against other contenders I cant wait to see it.  Womens MMA needs blood tests or its future is doomed!

Almost forgot, I posted or thought I posted a message Thursday night concerning Gina's lack of doing any interviews but its not on here.  Pretty much said, have paitence,  she is just a normal albeit amazing 27 year old woman who just experienced her first loss and took some serious head shots.  I know I dont want to see her beautiful face bruised and swollen,  give her emotional and physical wounds time to heal.  It wont be long and we will see that adorable face smiling and laughing and everything will be alot better.

Firstly I thought  - ok, Cyborg was better, she won the match, she dominated, Gina will continue to train hard, there'll be a rematch. But then I came to my senses! Gina was fighting a man! No really... And as someone somewhere said this had been the first man-woman match in history! Under current circumstances Gina can never beat Cyborg. Cyborg's just too strong. Don't steroids give you much more energy than one would have without using them? Just take a look of Cyborg's photo. One (woman) can not have body like without using steroids or similar chemicals or suffering hormonal disorder. Gina just did not have a chance. And so she should not feel bad about herself. She wins fair fights. She is the best. But how in a world could she beat a man (or a person of male strength and conformation)?

Krav dood,
Are you refering to my posts and if so why?  If you are refering to unrest, I agree that calling Cyborg a man is over the line, but pointing out the obvious is not.  There is no question that women can get in phenomanal shape naturaly but they do not look like that.  I just read on Yahoo that Cindy Dandois has called out Gina, Toughhill and Cyborg.  The way the quote read she wants to fight Gina first so maybe that will be Gina's next fight.  Bring her on!

I'm quite new to this whole thing and I apologize if I made inappropriate comments. As MMAFan said I was just trying to point out some things that I see others did in more appropriate manner.
What really matters is that Gina knows we're all with her, still loving, supporting and trusting in her. She needs time for herself and let's allow her that time.
