Strikeforce NY Press Conference

Okay, here's what I think. We should download the .FLV file from Strikeforce's website once the stream is finished, convert it to .AVI and upload it for this website. It should be quite a large file, but it will be worth it. Especially since not everyone will be able to watch it live. I use this program to download flash files from websites and it works everytime (It's a Firefox extension):

What I like about this program is that it's small and easy to use. You can also download large files, unlike some other .FLV catchers.

Let me know what you think, and if anyone is willing to help out with this. I'm going to try, but I can't promise anything, so it would be great to know there's a backup if need be.

Also, Bas, since we're on the same time zone, do you know the exact time this is going to be showing?

I'm not really sure how it's going to work, or if it even is. When I watch a video on YouTube I can start the download as soon as the video starts (as soon as that program picks up it's a down loadable file), and I don't have to finish watching the video in order to continue with the download, 'cause then it just uses double the bandwidth.

Now, with this being a LIVE show, I don't know if a person can start the download immediately as with YouTube, or if you can download it after the entire stream. It's just something we're going to have to try and see what happens.

I'm not too sure what timezone we're in exactly, but on my laptop it shows as (GMT +02:00) - Harare, Pretoria.

Strikeforce or Showtime will be streaming it. I'm going to the event tomorrow and I'm so excited. I'm bringing a camera as well.

So, it turns out I won't be able to watch a lot of it. My bandwidth just won't allow it. I'll be without internet for the rest of the month if I watch about 30 minutes of it, and I'm sure it will be longer than that. I'm so bummed right now...  >:(

I was also hoping someone could upload it to the site-- Im gonna be at work and wont be able to catch it.  Im wondering if the Strikeforce website will keep it on the site a couple of days or archive it to view later....

Yeah, y'all gotta deal w/ me till the end of the month  ;)

If I remember right StrikeForce streamed the Riggs vs Misaki event on their site and I got that. Also got a couple diff riping programs I could try, and if those fail there's always a direct screen cap program. Altho, I wish I had a setup (ram, memory etc..) to support lossless cap'ing.

Save some $/bandwith/whatever for next month, Ang. I have a feeling its gonna be a big dl.

Thanks PoD! I feel a little bit better now.  :) Well, it costs R550 for 2GB of bandwidth, and that's what I can't afford... only 1GB which is about R289...

def won't be over 1gb, but  :o for that you're paying like $35  (i.e same amt. for dinner & a movie)

already asked Bas this and he wasn't particular about it but what specs do you want - file size, type, include: entrances, pre interviews, commentator analysis, pre-hype video etc,  video compressed to rar or something? For that $ you should get it how you like, imo.
