Thanks!  ;) I honestly thought about all you guys on here when I saw her.  Then I was a little bummed because my pics of her didnt turn out at all.

She was so cute.  Every time the arena cam showed her the crowd cheered and whistled, then she would kind of bow her head out of embarrassment I think.

On a side note.....Tito Ortiz got booed heavily every time he was shown.  haha

Weight controversy in Santos' fight.

It even mentions Gina in this article and I think there is some legitimacy to either making the women make weight or make two classes so there isnt such a distinction in weight.  One thing I did fail to mention earlier is how much bigger Cyborg looked than Akano Saturday night.  Even some people around me were mentioning how much bigger she is in the match up.

An example of some of the unknown women trying to get to that level is a fighter at my school where I train.  A couple weeks ago she had a fight here in the Bay area and had to cut 4 lbs in less than a week.  2 days before her fight she was there overtraining and throwing up to cut those last few lbs.  I just wonder why its not such a big deal on the big scene when everyone in the world is watching.  Maybe I understand a little better why Dana White has not allowed women's MMA into the UFC.

And this isnt a backhand to Gina.  I think she understands and knows about the weight issue but she didnt come in 15lbs over like Cyborg did and blame it on "female issues" either.  Hopefully she makes weight and lays the smackdown on Cyborg as we all expect her to do.   ;)

Cyborg came 7 lbs overweight, not 15lbs. What you weigh on fight day does not matter as long as you meet the requirement during the weigh-ins. And also, Gina did use the "female issue" excuse before. It was right after the Evinger fight. She straight up said she was on her period.

I think Gina should go back to the place she got started. Tai Land and just focus on Cyborg. Its going to be a stand up fight and Gina should work at that...

Well, I love how honest Gina is, LOL! I'm sure Gina will be prepared going into this fight with Cyborg, 'cause she knows how important, and what a big event it is.

I realize that weigh-in day is different from fight day and the point is accountability.  If the women are going to rise to the same level as the men then they have to be held to the same standards.  And paying your opponent extra purse money is not the way to handle it.  Suspending the fighter is one way even if it disappoints the crowd.  But better to be disappointed than to watch a bear throw around a puppy for 7 minutes.
